Srilankan Airlines

Established in 1979 as Air Lanka, after the termination of operations of the original Sri Lankan flag carrier Air Ceylon. SriLankan Airlines, is the flag carrier of Sri Lanka. Following its partial acquisition in 1998 by Emirates it was re-branded to "SriLankan. After ending the Emirates partnership, it continues using its re-branded name and logo. The airline’s hub is located at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, SriLankan Airlines joined the oneworld airline alliance on 1 May 2014 as the first carrier from the Indian Sub-continent.

Fleet
Srilankan Airlines has a fleet size of 21, an average fleet age of 7.2 years. SriLankan Airlines has eight A320's used in its short/medium haul operations, has seven A330’s & has six A340’s to help connect the people of Sri Lanka with World and vice versa. The development of the airline has many carriers in the planning phase which is to be ordered in the days to come.

Sri Lankan remains the largest foreign carrier into the Maldives, with over 30 weekly flights between Male and Colombo.
